uniform policy is it taking away our freedom?
Posted in

General

A few days ago i recieved a letter in the mail concerning a new uniform policy at my dayghters school.I was astonished at the requirements they have. The list stated that i would have to pay $165 for 1 complete outfit....yes just one...pants and a shirt. Then the makeup and acceseries restrictions were even worse. The list read the following

1.The only type of nail polish that may be worn is clear

2.hair color must stick to the following..brown,blonde,black or NATUREL orange...no other highlights or colors are permitted.

3.The only color shoes that may be worn are black colored

4.hair must be upkept.....a pony-tail for girls and a short cut-above ears for boys

5.belts must also be black

6.makeup must be work VERY lightly if any at all no eyeliiners, mascara,or cover up is allowed.

IS THIS TOO MUCH!?? are they attempting to take away my child individguality?

You are making it more than what it really is. Children go to school to learn and get an education. IT IS NOT A RUNWAY FOR SHOWING OFF DESIGNER BRAND LOGOS!!! I understand children that are in high school should be allowed some more freedom seeing that they are coming into adulthood but children in elementary and middle school have no business wearing make-up and having any type of hair dyes!! they are children not mini me's!!! Stop living your once youth in your children!!!  Your child will have more than plenty of time in the day to show of "her individuality"!!! Individuality is not made up of what children wear, it is made of the kind of person they are!! their character, their self being!! More and more kids are going to school with less clothing and making it all about what they wear and not about what they are learning...Less and less children are interested in college and it is because of parents like you.. Uniforms DO NOT TAKE AWAY ANYONE'S FREEDOM as you so put it...it will just allow the students to focus on their education and not their CLOTHING!!! And you always have the FREEDOM to move your child to a non-uniformed school or better yet, if you want so much FREEDOM for child, HOME SCHOOL HER!!
