Way back during my teacher education I wrote a master’s thesis on technology. The basic conclusion was that technology was a tool, not a fix for education. Of course that should be obvious, yet even today we have schools, districts, foundations, and such pouring millions into putting technology into schools ...

The National Center for Education Statistics has released a compensation/demographic report on public school teachers. Seven States participated in this effort:
Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Missouri, and Oklahoma.
Highlights from the report:
1) Average Salary for full time teachers:
Arizona: $42, 772
Arkansas: $40, 981
Colorado: $44, 777
Florida: $41, 740
Iowa: $41, 145
Missouri: $40, 602
