Are you smarter than a 5th grader?

For the first time in the show’s history someone won the $1,000,000 prize. Who you might ask? Kathy Cox, Georgia State Superintendent of Schools. She has promised to donate the money to three schools in her state. (Maybe they can get one laptop per child)

Those skeptics might think that the questions were too easy. I don’t know some might think a school superintendant had better win, or the vast right wing conspiracy might put in the fix. Actually, I found the questions pretty good. I would have had to use a help on number 6 because I have no idea what countries border Costa Rica. I would have guessed correctly on what is NOT an official language of Sweden. Number 10 would have required some help also, I mean Lord Charles Conwalis? You would think a guy who grew up on Bevis and Butthead would remember a name like that, but I didn’t.

Kudos to Kathy Cox. She took a chance of getting some real egg on her face. (imagine if she blew a 1st grade question) I’m sure Kathy watched the show a few times and I’m sure she felt relatively comfortable that she would at least make a respectable showing.
