Knoxville School Shooting
August 21, 2008 – 8:04 am by Kim
A shooting occurred this morning around 8 a.m. at Central High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. The victim was a 16-year-old student who died shortly after arriving at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
The shooting occurred after a dispute broke out in the school cafeteria between two students. The school’s superintendent said that the shooting was not a random act, but targeted toward one individual and no aggression was held against the school or the students.
No other students were harmed during the shooting and the school was placed on lockdown.
It is a tragedy to lose such a young student and unsettling that another young student could commit such a crime. Luckily, it only took police 6 minutes to arrive at the scene, recover the gun and take the suspect into custody.

So damned pointless and sad! The shooter should be tried as an adult. In California, he’d get out at the age of 25, which is just not enough punishment for a crime like this.

I need to know what is wrong with the world today. Things like this are entirely too disgraceful to the human race and NOT what we’re here for. What can be going through the brainless head of a 15 year old to think that he can grab a gun and shoot to kill another human?? I don’t get it.

I completely agree. It is sad to hear stories like this and it seems to be happening more often.

This is really unfortunate, but this is the way it is, as you sow so shall you reap
