Middle Schoolers Expelled for “Field Trip Sex”
May 16, 2008 – 11:29 am by S TEver heard of popular drink “sex on the beach”? How about “sex on a school trip”? In Newberry, South Carolina, eight middle school students ages 13 and 14, have been expelled for having sex during a field trip.

Last month, 70 students from the Mid-Carolina Middle School, along with 20 chaperons traveled to Washington DC for an educational trip. And in fact, eight of the students got themselves a hearty education. In sex. First hand. Four boys and four girls did the deed while the chaperones were sleeping. (Or having their own chaperone sex!)

No drugs or alcohol were involved. This was all consensual. The school only found out about this last Friday.
There was not a chaperone in each room. Also, due to a mix-up with the reservations, the rooms were not all close together, but were spread throughout ten floors.

Parents would like to know what sort of disciplinary action will be taken against the chaperons.
What do you think? Whose fault is this? The school? The students? The chaperones?
Btw, the students have been “suspended” until the end of the school year. Not expelled for good. You can get a profile of the school here.
