“Columbine” Threat at Upper Arlington HS in Ohio
May 13, 2008 – 3:34 pm by S TA high school in Ohio has been temporarily closed down after police got wind of a threat, posted on an online forum. Upper Arlington High School, in Upper Arlington Ohio has canceled evening activities today and high school classes for all of tomorrow. This closure will allow police to “check all school buildings for any suspicious activity.”
According to Columbus Local News, “The threats reportedly concerned obtaining hand grenades for an assault on the school, with the student planning to lock doors to the building plotting to kill 60 people with an attack similar to that carried out by two students in 1999 at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo.”
The student is 15 years old. The FBI informed the local police of the threat.

The city of Upper Arlington has released a statement. Link. According to the statement:
- the suspect is a student of the high school
- the suspect is in custody and is cooperating with the investigation
- the local police were informed of this threat by a “federal law enforcement agency” that also tracked the “threat” to the home of the student currently in custody
- the Columbine-style event was supposed to take place tomorrow, on Wednesday May 14th
Scary stuff! Glad the police are on top of this.
